Porsche Technical Workshop

1. Technical Workshop 26th July -1pm- Saturday afternoon
Following the first Porsche general workshop given by Adrian Streather at Buik Motorworks on May 3rd 2014, Adrian, in association with Porsche Club South Australia, is a offering a more detailed 3 ½ hour session this time on Porsche air-cooled DME controlled normally aspirated engines fitted to 911s built from model years 1984 to 1998 – i.e.: Carrera 3.2, 964 and 993 series.
This will be on Saturday 26th July, 1pm at Buik Motorsports, with plenty of Question and Answer periods in our three mini sessions.
It’s planned to have each of the 3 Porsche 911 series represented at the event, which will also be used as part of the presentation.
This session is fully supported by PCSA and its committee.
2.Background-- Adrian Streather
As many in the club know already, Adrian is a well known author of many Porsche books, and a PCSA club member also. He has just returned to settle back home in South Australia after 20 years of living in Switzerland.
Those of you with a copy of one of his books on your shelves will be familiar with his expertise, and will welcome the opportunity to hear him present, ask him specific questions and discuss technical points with fellow enthusiasts.
Copies of his books will be available to view and purchase. Payment for books can be made by cash, Paypal or cheque.

Once again, Mark Buik has generously agreed to host this event.

4. Programme
Evolution on the engine management systems
Digital Motronic Electronics (DME) for The Porsche 911 – model years 1984 to 1998 – Carrera 3.2, 964 and 993.
1st Session- Welcome / Brief general history of the 911’s models covered /Technical overview of the engines fitted
2nd Session –Brief History of the DME / Technical Discussion of the various DME’s/ Q and A with participants
3rd Session- Detail Technical discussions /the type 930 3.2 litre engines, type M64 3.6 litre engines, OBDI & OBDII – on board diagnostic systems.
There will be regular coffee / discussion breaks throughout the afternoon.
